WMN Members recently gathered for a book club brunch where they discussed the book “Girl, Wash Your Face” by Rachel Hollis. During the event, they enjoyed a delicious Saturday brunch and talked about various topics highlighted in the book.

The discussion was insightful and each person shared their unique perspective on the topics covered. Some of the key takeaways from the meeting were:

  • Everyone wanted to create a vision board!
  • Comparing oneself to others is not helpful. We should all strive to be our own idols.
  • Self-reflection is essential, but it’s important not to be too hard on oneself.
  • Asking for help is encouraged, as it builds trust in others that they can deliver.
  • During the pandemic, there was a lot of toxic optimism. However, mental health became less stigmatized, and women’s health issues like menopause were more openly discussed on social media.
  • Making small achievable goals is better than breaking promises to yourself.
  • If you feel overwhelmed with certain posts on social media, you can mute people on LinkedIn.
  • “Manifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life” by Roxie Nafousie was recommended and is available through different sources.
  • “Cup of Joey” was suggested as a networking opportunity, link to event page
  • Digital business card suggestions were also made, including HiHello, Covve, and Blinq.
